About Sophia..
I am devoted to bridging inner listening with outer expression - creating art and spaces where the body can be heard, where we listen deeply, and creativity becomes a pathway to awareness and transformation.
My personal practice spans movement, writing, visual art, improvisation, voice, poetry. I see creativity as a way of listening: more deeply to myself, to others, and to the living world around me.
At the heart of my work is a longing for authentic expression and creative freedom.
I am passionate about supporting a reconnection to our innately creative essence, about spaces where we can explore, create, and remember what it means to be fully alive. I weave together somatic education, expressive arts, and insights from contemplative traditions and modern psychology to support journeys of self-discovery.
With a background working in community arts and mental health spaces, I care deeply about fostering inclusive, supportive environments where all parts of a person are welcome.
My approach is rooted in training with the Tamalpa Life/Art Process (Somatic Therapy and Expressive Arts), alongside a foundation in Body Psychotherapy, Yoga Teacher Training, and studies in Trauma-Informed Movement, Subtle Bodywork, Authentic Movement, and Qi Gong. I also hold an MA in Social Anthropology, all of which have shaped my understanding of embodiment, healing, and socio-ecological belonging.
