Creative Education & Community Arts
I facilitate participatory and process-led arts experiences that bridge creative discovery with education.
My work is rooted in the belief that creative practice can create spaces for curiosity, expression, reflection and connection - both with ourselves, with others and the wider world around us. I have worked with children, families and communities through a range of creative and socially engaged projects, using art-making, creative writing, movement and sensory approaches to explore relationships with topics, place, the natural world and the body.
Touching Safe Ground
Touching Safe Ground was a creative project based in East London working with refugee communities, including women and children. The project created gentle and welcoming opportunities for participants to explore creativity, connection and a sense of belonging through sensory and embodied arts practices.
Working with natural materials, creative processes and the surrounding environment, participants were invited to slow down, notice, explore and respond through art, writing and other forms of creative expression.
Over the course of a year, I worked collaboratively with NHS practitioners and other facilitators to deliver a programme of classes and events, bringing together varied approaches to support participants’.
Globe Community Project
I worked as part of a creative facilitation team to develop and deliver sessions bringing women and their children from marginalised communities into a local community garden in East London. The project used creative arts, play, and nature-based activities as a way of encouraging connection, curiosity and a sense of belonging.
The garden became a local space and resource for the community, for shared learning and relationship-building, with opportunities for children and families to develop confidence in engaging with the natural environment and with one another.
